About Monica
I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. I am a people person but also an introvert. I love people, love close relationships but also love my own company and my space. I believe that people are a result of their circumstances and that we are all on this earth on a pre-determined journey to learn the lessons we need in this lifetime.
After many years of searching I know that my experiences to this point, have had a point. I have experienced first-hand the results of pro-longed stress, of neglecting my own needs and always putting others first. I have experienced the hardship of working in an unhealthy work environment, feeling trapped with nowhere else to go. I have experienced being the parent with sole responsibility of raising young children, despite having the other parent flying in and out of our lives.
I have managed a team of dedicated and passionate individuals who threw their hearts and souls into helping those in need; and I have despaired as I watched many crumble as a result of neglecting their own needs. I have seen circumstances that have led people to develop serious physical illnesses and I have seen remarkable recoveries by just changing attitudes and deciding to heal. I have witnessed amazing strength when walking alongside clients who have experienced loss and I have known others unable to recover from their trauma. All these experiences have shaped me and moulded me into the person I am today. I am grateful for everything that has happened because it allows me to be the person I am today and to share the knowledge I have to help others — which is my purpose.
